Ed...you said it RIGHT...WHERE IS the MODERATOR!!!???  It's bad 
enough we have to deal with low-life scumbags that send out porno 
emails that are UNSOLICITED....NOW it's hitting OUR DTX group!!!??
This garbage is offensive and beyond low!  I certainly hope that we 
won't be flooded with this kinda garbage!  I could say PLENTY more, 
but I WILL refrain...might make me loose my religion...

I know the forum has been kinda slow lately but thats no reason to 
bring in sluts!  Drummers have enough chicks already without having 
to deal with them in their message boards!  Now anytime a newbie 
joins our board he/she is going to have see that message topic.

Hi Jade,

Hope all is well in the family, and the vacation is going well. 
Unfortunately, our moderators have left the building, and, like 
Elvis, they probably won't be back. At the very least, a moderator 
would be able to delete offensive and irrelevant posts from the 
site, and, if so inclined, from emails as well. Such is life; we'll 
press forward nonetheless.

Ed,
The vacation started off on a sour note...a dear
friend from high school passed away and then little
Jade had another episode of cholangiohepatitus-so it's
back on 2 antibiotics, and more blood work!  Funny how
3 wks. prior to his recent bout, all his lab work was
normal.  Haven't had much time for drumming, but I
expect to get some quality time in this coming
week...hope your ailing joints are doing better...the
weather sucks here, and I know you are in the same
geographical area for weather...be prepared...it's
raining like crazy out right now.
Other than that bit of gloom...everything else has
been well.  STILL no word from Walt, and he never
answered my email I sent him several weeks ago.  I
hope everything is alright with him!

I belong to 4 other Y-groups - they are all infested with this crap. 
I reported the offensive posts to Yahoo's spam division, but 
little/nothing will likely be done about it.

I stopped recv. the daily group emails and subsequently dont even 
visit them anymore. I really wouldnt want that to happen here as well.

I've been a silent member here for some time and have to confess I 
haven't investigated my DTXpress as much as I should, as soon as I 
got it I realised I could really get into recording and have spent 
all my time working out how to do that. I am a member of a list for 
Home Recodring. We started getting these porn e-mails in the last few 
weeks. Someone mentioned that we didn't have a moderator and a flame 
war started up once this was realised. It killed our group. We 
created a new group called Home_Recording_Tech and assigned regular 
contributors moderator status. This way we can filter who gets in and 
how long they can stay if they get abusive etc. I've created a group 
called DTXpress_tech so that that option is open to this group. If 
it's only a few porn e-mails, most people will let it go but if the 
spam gets bad join that group and I'll assign moderators based upon 
regular membership.

Jade and everyone,

Roger Teevan, with much ingenuity, found an email address for the 
band in which Chris Thackston, this group's founder, plays. Roger 
emailed him about our need for him to appoint a moderator. To create 
a greater sense of urgency, I emailed as well. Maybe we'll be able 
to take some control over the spam/porn/files/photos problems. Kudos 
to Roger.

So.. Maybe this is the last straw? :) AGAIN.... I humbly offer the
following solution:

I will host the group list.

I have a domain and a forum already running (for about 6 months now!).

I set up others to moderate and/or control the site (just vote on it?).

Thanks Ed...it amazes me how these scumbags are able
to exploit us with their trash.  I have had a problem
with my other emails being loaded with porno crud!  I
was able to find a cookie named "sextracker" that
mysteriously finds it's way to my computer and then
the porno ads follow...I would love to know WHERE I am
picking it up, I have deleted it several times, there
must be some web page I am visiting that it finds its
way into my "cookies" list...I can't imagine even
visiting these offensive sites.  I am a Christian, I
love the Lord and wouldn't expose my body, mind and
soul to this garbage!!
Thank you for taking the time to email this guy and
hopefully we can eliminate this creeping crud!
