i have a pcy 130s and the choke function appears to not be working, can somebody help??

A bit more information would help:

Is it a new pad?  

Has it worked in the past and just stopped working?  

Do you get two sounds from it (one when you hit the edge, another when you hit the main part of the pad)?

What is the module?

Which input is it plugged into?

Are you using a stereo cable?

sorry for that, ok the module is a dtxpress IV, i bought the pad used, its plugged to the crash input, i get 2 sounds on the edge i get a bell and on the top i get crash sound, with a stereo cable. maybe i need to reset the program of the pad, can you help with that?

OK, so the pad works and is wired correctly.  I think the most likely problem is that the pad type is not set up correctly in the trigger menu.

I am not familiar with the DTXpress IV menus (I have the DTXpress III) but I think you need to look at page 36/37 of the manual and set the trigger type for the pad to "PCY3".

I assume you know that to use the choking you need to grip (squeeze) the rim section of the cymbal after you have hit it?  It can take a bit more force than you might expect - not like a normal cymbal.
