Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I just bought a DTXpress III (after being a hand drummer for a couple 
of years)
I'd like to start exploring adding some new kits and wonder if anyone 
has good templates for kits that they have created?
I'm sure I'll get to the point of creating my own, but think this may 
be a good way to get started by seeing how folks who know what they're 
doing have come up with.

Welcome.  If you look in the files section of the group you will find
quite a few kits.  These will usually be .syx files for dowloading to
the DTXpress.  There are also quite a few on the DTXpressions site
http://dtxpressions.com/ as well as the DTXchange program for
transferring them.  I don't think the DTXpressions site has been
updated for ages, but the stuff is still all there.
