pc-based groove check program.

pc-based groove check program.

2008-04-06 by Asbjørn Bjørnstad

Hi,
I find the lcd display a tad small to look at while practicing, and my
monitor is so conveniently placed that I wrote a program that you can
run on your PC that shows you your hits and a metronome track. It's a
pretty rough first version, but if you'd like to try it out you can
download it from http://www.xsit.com.sg/downloads.html (Screenshots at
http://www.xsit.com.sg/beater/screenshots.html )

One of the things I haven't fixed properly is automatic midi setup. So
you have to run the msDrivers.exe file that is in the same directory
as the app itself. (Should be \Program Files\Beater unless you change
it.) click on one of the squares in the middle to make it red, and
then on the midi input for your drum set to highlight it. Then exit
the program and launch Beater. (Corny name, I know.)

If anyone have problems or suggestions for improvements I'd like to hear it.

Hi again.
I don't want to spam, but I looked at my logs and it seems most people
who tried downloading had failed. I've moved the file to a more
reliable location so if you'd still like to try it out, you can try
again now. I've also updated the code so it should be easier to
connect it to your midi device.

Don't worry - if it's about the DTXpress then its not spam! I haven't
tried the program because it will make my display even harder to see -
I haven't got a computer anywhere near my drum kit!

Keith.
