Cymbals retainer

Cymbals retainer

2004-09-08 by gibson3691

Hi group, I noticed something about cymbal retainers. Were thos
standard with DTXpressIIISE? Yamaha doesn't have a part no for an
accessory. I didn't think the cymbals were supposed to spin. Thanks

Mike

The L-stabilizers came with the stereo cymbal pads only on the
earlier versions of the PCY series cymbals (wedges). All of the new
PCY130/130S/150S come with them, but they are a different design.
They could be purchased separately for about $19. I think Drumbalaya
had them, check with Ed Morin, to see if they still have them. There
have been a few homebrewed versions that I have seen, do a search
here to find them.

I'm not sure about the retainers, but to prevent the cymbals from spinning (and add to the realistic feel of cymbals) you might consider Aquarian Cymbal Springs. These make the cymbals feel more like real cymbals more than they already do.
