The rubber core sticks have the wood feel, and do reduce shock, but by little...and the sticks have no weight to them so they don't appeal to me. Ahead Drumsticks are very nice weight, feel, and shock absorbtion...they are made of Poly-somthing, I forget but they are very very strong and very well made. I gave them a try when I tested the DTXpress II at a Lynchburg shop and they worked so good on those pads...I felt very little vinration, if any. -Zack-
