A stereo or "TRS" (Tip, Ring, Screen) cable can be used either for
stereo (piezo and switch) or dual-zone (two piezo) triggers. The
AX14S is a dual-zone snare. Input #2 is a stereo input. If you plug
the AX14S into #2, you won't get the rim sound as it's expecting a
switch not a piezo. Input #9/10 is a dual zone (or dual mono) input
and so naturally suited to the output of the AX14S without using
splitters.

Unfortunately, the downside to using it the way that has been
recommended here is that you'll need not one but two insert cables
(splitters). You will need to split the tip and ring from the AX14S,
send the tip to #2 and the ring to another splitter on #9/10.
