Hi, Use GM mode to lessen the configuration headache between the DTxpress and the GM library. If you use the Native mode, you'll have to map the softsynth's midi notes to match the dt. I've tried to use the dtxpress to trigger other software synths, the biggest problem was the latency of the software under Windows 98 ( AMD k6-2 400 processor w/ 128 meg ram) so you'd hit the pad, and after few millseconds you'd here the soft synth kick in. I've had great success using it to trigger other drum/keyboard brains ( Roland d-110, etc. ) Let me know if GIGA works without excessive delay. The soft synths for Windows work ok if they are the ONLY sound source and you're playing back some recorded MIDI and NOT trying to synch with recorded audio, in which case the lags are relatively unpredictable and will piss you off.
