Use a good sharp razor knife to carefully cut it apart at the glued joints so that it can be glued back together. If the ribbon is physically broken, it did not look like it could easily be fixed. And after asking Yamaha for the price to replace the ribbon in the rim switches for the TP65S ($150), it would be cheaper to replace the pad all together. I would remove the plastic covering over the PCB/jack first and check to see if anything is loose there, before I would remove the rubber covering.
