OGD,

We should pay you for this data. A heartfelt thanks and a round of
Zen applause (the sound of two hands clapping in a forest with no
one listening), however, is probably the most you'll get. Having
been around here in one capacity or another for at least a couple of
years, I'm not surprised by the 104 figure. That sense of a three-
digit participation over time is what made me think that possibly we
might have something. What might be valuable to know is how many of
those different participants posted more than a couple of times--
that is, on more than one fairly immediate issue--and over a long
enough span to be recognizable to people like you, Stephen, Stewart,
Vern, Jade, UNH, etc. Do we have information that contradicts what
the recent poll seemed to indicate (let's see if Roger's turns the
tables)? You can't fault individuals for not being devoted to this
group's general concerns; as you say, though, the characteristics
and dynamics of the posters might provide food for thought.

By the way, I corresponded with Zilla offline. He's up to speed. His
group, Drumzilla's lair, and this one are the most congenial and
informative percussion sites that I can imagine. If we can get
DTXpress--wherever it ends up--to be as well-run as his, we'll have
accomplished a great deal.
