I'm using two DTX brains, and have them linked together via a 
Behringer MX802 mixer.
Since I'm using my kit in a live application, I've directed certain 
drums sounds to distinct channels. This way, I can mix and EQ my 
sound on the fly. Here's how I have it set up:

Brain One:
Bass/Tympani     R=63
Snare/Rim Shots/Side Stick     L=63

Brain Two:
Cymbals and Metallic Percussion     R=63
Toms and Organic Percussion     L=63

Plus, If we're using a sound man or are in the studio, I can send 
four lines to the main board.
