HI all, I'm sure this question will have some of you yukking it up, but here goes anyway: On my old acoustic set, I could play 16th notes off my high-hat/snare (I'm usally playing cross-handed, except for 16th stuff) by setting up the snare approx 45-60 degree angle from the hi-hat, so in effect when I'm playing the rapid 16th triplets it's easy to come off the hi- hat and onto the snare. However, on the DTX, replicating the ideal positioning for hi-hat and snare to achieve 16th notes hasn't been easy for me. When I adjust the hi-hat so I can hit it cleanly, I'm screwed up trying to find the right position for the DTX's lower rack arm for the snare. Anybody with pictures, diagrams, etc? I'm not sure if I explained the problem with enough detail, but hopefully someone out there in DTX-land will understand what I'm trying to do. Ideally, I want to be able to look straight ahead to play around the kit, but for those songs where there's a repetitive 16th note attack, be able to swivel a little and face the hi-hat/snare straight on -- is that possible? Thank you in advance for whatever insights. Also, if there's a link or a message number where this question has already been answered, bring it on, too. I attempted to go through the database already, but didn't find anything. I know this was a bit "windy", but I'm done now. -- Draker.
