Hi,

Sorry about the loss of your custom kits. How's your memory? You
can't add new sounds to the DTXpress' sample database, and it's
highly unlikely that Alesis' sysex is compatible with Yamaha's
(unless I'm mistaken--always a genuine possibility). Good luck
finding the DTXtreme brain at all, and then at a reasonable price.
Every so often one shows up on ebay, and last I noticed, Midwest
Percussion, usually a compassionate seller, had them new for over
$800--way too much. You shouldn't have to pay more than $600 or so
for one at this point, and even less if it's been through the wars
already. Yamaha is supposed to be coming out with at least one new
module after summer NAMM; it will probably have better removable
storage options than the discontinued model. I'd wait, unless you
are sure that the old DTXTU meets your forseeable needs.
