Uh-Oh - here comes another noob

Hi all,

I figured I may as well make my prescence known after lurking for the
last two months. Thanks to all of you regular posters for sharing
your wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm.

Who am I? I'm a CA boy that finally reached a point in my life when I
have the time, money, and space to pursue an interest that was put
aside 25 years ago (OMG - how time flys).

I've been watching prices on the DTX and drooling for about a year.
Three months ago I picked up a bone-stock DTX1 with throne/pedal on
Ebay for $530.

Since then (thanks to the tech info found here) I've added a used RS-
80 rack (metal clamps kick butt) KP-65 kick trigger, Peace 2x pedal,
TP-80s, and Visu-Lite 1655 chokeable crash. I'm very happy with the
set-up, probably won't need to upgrade agaain for at least 2~3 weeks.

I'm having a blast with the DTX and becoming re-acquainted with drums
in general - PLUS the wife can't hear it from the other room. She
freaked when I told her I had bought a used drum kit (after I bought
it of course). Everyones happy now though and I'm thrashing away 2-3
hrs/day and learning how to read music again.

I probably won't be posting too much - busy catching up on all the
great posts/info to be found. Maybe next week I'll get around to
posting some pics of my new setup.

Thanks again and Aloha!
