Re: Help With HiHat Settings...What Am I Doing Wrong???

2003-01-29 by liberatusvirus <liberatusvirus@yahoo.com>

I'm glad to help. I got a lot of help when I started as well. The
Visu-lites mount on the HH stand of your choice (though I've heard
that the DW swivel-leg model doesn't accommodate it so easily). The
top cymbal attaches to input 8 just like the pad you have now. The
cable goes through a hole in the two cymbals and out the bottom into
the module. The controller is basically the foot pedal of your hi
hat stand attached to an electronic assembly, not unlike a very
glorified dimmer switch, that follows the motion of the pedal,
giving you the full range of sound between closed and open. A cable
runs from the assembly to the controller input of the module. The hi
hat cymbals behave normally while the foot pedal and electronic
device do their job. With proper setting, the simulation is perfect.
One caveat: The top Visu-lite cymbal is noiser than what you have
now. You may want to dampen it with more than Tom's thin rubber
cover on the playing part of its surface.
