Any pad will work in any input. However if you want the proper characteristics for a particular pad or purpose, you need to set it for the proper pad type. These should already be factory set. But just as a check, plug the pad into any other input. If it still doesn't work, try a different cable.Try to use a stereo cable,but even a non-stereo cable will tell you something. The fact that you get a 'ping' when un-plugging tells you that the input is working. Probably a bad cable.
