Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I, too use a mixer AND a Rolls headphone amp. For what I do they are 
both indispensible! I use the mixer to mix  dtxp, CD, and a sequencer 
that goes to the main PA. On other channels I receive signals from a 
click track (not DTXP) and monitor sends from PA. On these channels, 
the fader is all the way down. The first aux send is Pre fader, so it 
sends a signal even when none is sent out the main. These signals go 
to my personal headphone amp. My vocal mic also goes directly to the 
rolls, before continuing to the main PA.I can control my own 
mic-to-monitor volume. Intimate control over everything! This is a 
great, simple set-up.

But when I practice at home, I just use the DTXP. If you use a good 
pair of headphones the volume is fine. I have four pairs, but only one 
gives me enough volume, and they are great! 

NOW HERE IS THE BIG SECRET. Look in the Utility section. Go to the 4th 
sub menu: TG Group. Go to Volume. this sets the tone generator volume 
for the whole system. It is set at 110 as the factory default. You can 
go up to 127. Do it.This should make a big difference, but GET A GOOD 
PAIR OF HEADPHONES.
