It sounds like the program must have found a midi input device though, because if I leave mine unplugged I get an error message "No Midi device found - this application can't be start". The WINMM174.SYS file seems to be one created by the midi monitor and when I open it it contains the following "LaunchCount=29" - that's all. So it is simply a counter to see how many times you have used it (presumably before the demo period expires). Keith.
