Ern, From my point of view, you'd be stepping down in ergonomics and a few useful features, like more elaborate stacking or crossfading, but you'd be gaining three-zone capability and trigger flexibility, with either the II or the III. The DTX represents Yamaha's oldest triggering technology. The advantage of the III over the II is mainly some new Motif cymbal sounds and, I think, more three-zone-capable inputs. Whether this is enough justification to spend more is not for me to say. Ed
