People saying that my sounds or music are crap, without reasoning it, I will just ignore. If he thinks that sequence is crap, well, ok. Good for him. Indeed, if I would think something like that from someone else, I certainly would have put it in other words. In my case it does not matter, but saying this to someone who just started to make music with his first synth (Evolver) a statement like that could damage someone's confidence... :-) That sequence ran through my monitors all night last night and I enjoyed it A LOT! Can't argue about taste. The balls this synthesizer has is fun for me and I noticed the balls in this particular sequence. I will put online a new audiofile of it (not mp3) and leave the phaser out. Maybe the balls get more recognizable then? I make music for more then 20 years now, released 188 tracks on my website. All selfmade music and selfmade sounds (mostly). It really does not hurt my confidence when someone comes with a mail like Peters one. :-) I think the Evolver is a fantastic little box. It's a long time ago, that I had so much fun with a synth! And yes, I will pledge some sounds/arps for the usersoundset asa I have made a few. Regards, Boele Something Completely Different http://www.synthmusic.info Peter, of course the Evolver is capable of more, but a few points regarding your "crap" assessment of trippler's or Boele's mp3: - Assuming that you're talking about trippler's bass patch/sequence, that patch HAD to be fairly generic and simple, because he used it in a comparison/quiz between seven different synths. He couldn't do a bunch of stuff on the Evolver that the other synths weren't capable of (and vice versa). The point was to compare the sound of the seven different synths. Go here for the comparison/quiz: http://www.trippler.net/music/Stuff/stuff.html - Whether you're talking about trippler's mp3, or Boele's mp3, why don't you try to ENcourage him, rather than DIScourage him? Regardless of whether you or I or anyone else think a given patch/sequence/mp3 is "good" or not, the fact remains that the guy is graciously sharing his work with the community. How about giving some *constructive* criticism - tell him HOW you think he can improve his patch - rather than just giving him *destructive* criticism by telling him it's "crap". - Since you seem to be fairly knowledgeable and experienced with the Evolver, how about sharing some of *your* work (patches, sequences, songs, etc.) with the community? Show everyone how it's done! :) Ski www.ex5tech.com EX5Tech Evolver forum: http://www.ex5tech.com/ex5ubb_cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=23 --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, peter sedin <midihooker@y...> wrote: > hey my friend..its a crap patch (audiofile) you > uploaded..sorry but i think so....but its your first > hey!! > evolver can do beatter then that. > i suggest we do a sysexpatchbank we we can compare and > study our patches...and if someone that shouldent, use > it in a recordings, we start hanging people:))) > peter stockholm sweden. > :=) > > > > __________________________________________________ > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo!
