Four channel 3U panel design design

Four channel 3U panel design design

2008-02-08 by djbrow54

I was inspired by Jan Czmok's 2U PSIM with the 2x16 LCD. The LCD I
designed for my PSIM was a 2x8 that fits in a companion 1U module
(an
earlier version of the LCD_Support design). I'd much rather have the
larger display so was thinking of rebuilding my PSIM module

I also have a companion level shifter module for +/- 5 volt inputs
(shifted to 0 to +10 volts) that takes up another 1U. This
functionality is designed into the CVS so it would be easier to just
build a new four channel CVS with LCD.

I did a concept 3U CVS panel and uploaded a jpg image to the
Files>Front Panel folder. I'll have to ponder on this for a while
but thought I'd share.

Version is Excel is too old to open BOM file

2008-02-08 by Grant Richter

The Excel program that I have from Win 95 doesn't seem to want to open the file:

"CVS LCD Support Frac & MOTM BOM.xls" in the "Files>LCD_support" directory.

Could someone take pity on an old barely computer literate person and publish the contents
of the XLS file as open text or something? I really need the parts list to build the LCD boards.

I have two of the LCD boards and 3 of the CVS boards that I am trying to building now. Any
help is appreciated.

BTW as I color code the board layout for standard production stuffing diagrams, I will pass
them along.

Thank you for any help.

Hi Dave,

Thank you vary much!

Very helpful!

Thanks again,

Jan's design was a 2U PSIM with LCD. My CVS four channel design is a
3U as I chose to leave the offset controls so I had 4 additional
knobs. That way I can get an 8 channel sequencer out of the design as
well as +/- 5 volt inputs.

I went to order my 3U panel tonight, and as always, I did a final
check. Imagine my surprise to find out I used the wrong width for a
3U panel! I've updated my design file [DJB-CVS (4 chan).fpd] with
the correct width. I wanted to let anyone know that might have
copied the file.

Got my panel back and started building a 4 channel version. I put a
front and rear image in my photo album.

I did it that way on my PSIM module. For some reason, probably all
the editing, the CVS panel came out the other way around. Then I
would get confused between the PSIM and the CVS. At least now they're
both consistent!
