The LCD Support PCB is designed to stack directly on top of the 16x2 LCD.
The LCD Support PCB works with the following backlit LCDs:

Modification required, as per instructions in the BOM/Parts List:
* Lumex LCM-S01602DSF/C (Mouser part number 696-LCM-S01602DSFC)
* Vishay/Dale L016N002DYYHET0000 (Mouser part number 71-L016N2DYYHET)

Modification NOT required, but these parts are no longer available from US
distributors:
* Seiko L1672
* Seiko M1632
