To the moderator: could you please turn on RSS syndication for this
group? That would be cool!

Mike

PS - If moderators of *cough* other groups read this, might they also
consider enabling RSS for their groups?

What does RSS syndication get you and how do the rest of us use it?

Please share.

It's a way to group news sources into one UI (the RSS Reader) so you
don't have to physically (virtually?!?) go to a site for the latest
poop. You can scan the headlines in your reader and click for the
full text.

Depending on your platform, there are many readers out there. If
you're on a Mac, Safari has RSS (and ATOM) built in and it works
great. I use the Wizz Computers RSS plug-in for Firefox. There are
stand-alone readers, too, if that's your thing: google RSS Reader and
you'll get a lot of hits.

Currently the MOTM, Cyndustries, E.A.R., and Metalbox groups have RSS
feeds that make it very convenient to keep up to date. I don't get
emails: too much mailbox clutter.

Currently, RSS feeds are only available if the group's message archives
are public. They are currently set to "members only", since there have
been some concerns raised about intellectual property rights and such.
I'd like to hold off for a few weeks before making any changes until we
get our feet wet (and I have a better understanding of the managment
tools available here). Continued feedback welcome.

thanks,

Re: [OT] RSS

I just checked the Milton group.
The archives are public but I can't find an RSS option to toggle in the
management section.
Am I missing something?

Thanks, Michael.

The moderator or owner of the group has to turn it on. The MOTM group
does and those few others I mentioned...
