group buy update

2007-12-17 by Scott Deyo

Some emails are bouncing back to me, so here's the email I sent out to
individuals, in case anyone didn't get it:

> [warning: impersonal group email]
>
> The CVS boards have been ordered and paid for. They are set to arrive
> at the beginning of January. The DACs are here. Each PCB will need
> two.
>
> Good news #1 -- due to many samples to Dave Brown and some to me, the
> DACs are free. Once in production, it looks like they will be ~$12
> apiece. Each PCB needs two, and we have enough for everyone.
>
> Good news #2 -- we got up to 26 boards, bringing the per-PCB cost down
> to $17.xx apiece.
>
> Good news #3 -- there is no bad news.
>
> So, to cover shipping, $23 can be sent to me via Paypal,
> sales@...
>
> Thanks to everyone! Let’s have some fun w/ this one. We can discuss
> display PCBs and panels in January. I’m excited!
>
> Now, I promised discretion. Dave Brown designed a PCB and wrote (and I
> sincerely hope will continue to write) much software for this project.
> It would not be looked down upon to “encourage” him via Paypal,
> davebr@... . After all, we’re getting the PCB and DACs for
> less than we’d normally pay for the (as yet unreleased) DACs. Keep in
> mind, this is not expected at all, just an idea of mine. (And please
> just be sure it’s from a Paypal balance, not from a credit card.)
>
> Also keep in mind that, though excited about this project and its
> possibilities, I don’t know anything about this software/firmware
> magic, and if you have any issues, I only bought the PCBs and shipped
> them, so don’t blame me! ; p
> Seriously, though, thanks again to everyone who ordered, for making it
> possible for us to do this at such a low cost.
>
> Cheers,
