Can someone design a better one i tried hard but the 'squint factor' proved to me time after time that your trebele clef is the best compromise with the 7x5 grid without becoming an ampersand > or have a better > suggestion for these eight characters? i reviewed the character set and here are my thoughts after i thought about it ... i like the hex and decimal symbols... kudos! i think we need an Up and Down arrow more than a natural sign or sharp. The natural is only relevant in the context of a key signature and that's WAY outside the capabilities of the display. i'll grant you that having a dedicated flat instead of a plain lower-caste "b" is a a little more readable, but the ASCII crosshatch will do fine for a sharp. For myself, i'd never use the clefs or the note symbols but i can't think of anything MORE applicable so they win by default. that's my $.02 and , as ever, THANKS for all your hard work -doc > Dave >
