Hi all I don't have an Andromeda or Ion yet but want to soon....I have a question on the oscillators. I just sold my Jupiter 6 and am looking and am looking to the A6 to be the higher tech replacement. Can the A6 turn on multiple waveforms in in each oscillator like the Jupiter 6....with the Jupiter I could turn on pulse, sine & triangle from 1st or second oscillator.... Thanks Bob El Segundo, CA

You can download the owner's manual from http://www.alesis.com/downloads/manuals/A6_Manual.pdf It's a BIG manual, this synth has tons of sound-sculpting power.

Bob, yes, you can have sine, square, ramp, and also sub-oscillators all
going at the same time, per VCO.

I just double-checked that... On page 106 of the Alesis A6 owner's manual: "Selecting Waveforms When editing an existing Program or creating a new one, one of the key issues in determining what the final program will sound like is what waveform is selected in each VCO. Both OSC 1 and OSC 2 have identical functions for producing waveforms so our discussion here covers both VCOs. Selecting a waveform is as simple as pressing the button next to its panel label. Each VCO can have a different waveform ____and more than one waveform can be activated on each VCO. You can have all four waves on at the same time, for example.____" And it's square, sine, triangle, sawtooth, and sub-osc... Russ

I have both. The A6 has several features in common with the JP6. The aforementioned multi-waveform oscillators is a nice one, but also have a dedicated "Unison Detune" knob, multimode filters, etc. The sound is different, but you can get similar results with some programming tricks. Good luck! JZ: --- In Andromeda_A6-ION@yahoogroups.com, "Bob S." <tttsystems@...> wrote:
