I don't know why I am so stoked about this synth, but here are the facts: 1. I am selling my nord 3 to get one (the sounds are just boring me on it) strange but true. 2. just called alesis and they said it will be in store the first week of April (i am holding my breath) 3. the ion demos sound unique 4. the interface seems clean, intuitive, and waldorf-like, the buttons I mean 5. it just has some intangible quality that is making me obsessed with buying one i simply just cannot wait for it, and I am still unsure fully why...........????maybe Simple gear lust...... -Jeff

My either I pre-order one back in October when Ben Ling from Alesis put som info on Keyboardmag(us) forum then I was sold. When I order my Andromeda I think what synth do I have money for and the was Korg Ms 2000,ION,Roland JP 8000 or wait to have for a Nordlead 3 BUT I took ION. Have you seen the movie I think we will hear more from MUSIKMESSE in Frankfurt. --- In Andromeda_A6-ION@yahoogroups.com, "Jeffkissinger <jeffkissinger@y...>" <jeffkissinger@y...> wrote: > I don't know why I am so stoked about this synth, but here are the facts: > 1. Yeah, saw the movie, some of the more digi-gritty sounds towards the end of the demo really got me going, sounds unique, very unique. I am looking for somthing with character, like a fizmo, or evolver, and I think the ion has IT. -Jeff --- In Andromeda_A6-ION@yahoogroups.com, "arp26002000 <arp26002000@y...>" <arp26002000@y...> wrote:

It sounded like very fast LFOs as the wladorf Q has,too ;) Hmm, it's strange you all seem to buy synths that you have not really listened too ;) Also saw that video & listened the mp3, but I still could not decide if it is a GOOD SYNTH ;) But it IS promising.. I'll check it at musikmesse frankfurt (music fair). Very Qrious about those filters and quality, seems not bad.. And at THAT price.. And, btw: not really a beauty exept the coloured bank leds ;) Any real hands-on ppls comments? Turned the knobs etc..? Well.. Will be an interesting synth!!.. April is the month! ION may gain some money back to alesis and hopefully re-animate the andromeda development.. (well, not likely but a secret wish).. Racked and 3.5oktave "indigo" version is very appreciated.. And would make my live-gigin much nicer!!.. (the andro is the perfect live-synth atm IMHO).. > Yeah, saw the movie, some of the more digi-gritty sounds towards the > end of the demo really got me going, sounds unique, very unique. Yes great machine with great Spec for only 799$ in most shops. And the sounds is not from the finish machine think about Effects like Resonator,Decimator and others can do. It is made for both Classic sounds and NEW sounds. --- In Andromeda_A6-ION@yahoogroups.com, "Jeffkissinger <jeffkissinger@y...>" <jeffkissinger@y...> wrote: > Yeah, saw the movie, some of the more digi-gritty sounds towards the > end of the demo really got me going, sounds unique, very unique. Only know two here that has try out ION in NAMM is Moose and Rollerator. Me and Moose talk about Ion in Waldorf forum and our own email add so I stay on my Pre-order. Maybe you can make better Demo that will be great. Have seen the photos of Vintage synths.
