I used the Boss FV-500 pedal on the gig as a (stereo) volume pedal and not an expression pedal, but the expression pedal worked fine in all tests and man was I psyched!
Eduardo,
Thanks for the input!
Sounds like, in lieu of an insert cable, making up a cable with a TRS plug
on one end and a mono plug on the other end, with the tip of the mono connected
to the tip of the TRS, and the ground of each connected together would do the trick.
My guess as to why just using a mono cable doesn't work is the sleeve one the mono
plug shorts the sleeve and ring together when plugged into the pedal's jack.
I wonder if the FV-50 will work, as well... it'a a little cheaper than the FV-500. Though, I have
to say --- the FV-500 looks a lot more sturdy. Is it metal?
Thanks!
