there's a thread about it at: http://mailman.code404.com/mailman/ listinfo/a6 basically alesis has shipped a faulty batch of A6s and for those unfortunate folks who have gotten them have had their "fixed" ones also be faulty... here it the first post i was regarding it. "Hello, I have seen the current topic going on the list regarding the faulty batch of Andromedas released by Alesis. Months ago I posted my own experience, a big challenge that has left me without Andromeda, and with Alesis not shipping a new batch, until today. Alesis is having trouble making Andromedas because they don't have delivery of certain chips to make them. This fact was not disclosed by both Alesis and its Canadian distributor, Intellimix. I got my A6 in February of this year. Shortly after, I found just by editing a bit of the portamento on the preset patch "UniStack Porta" that one of the oscillators was getting stuck, and it would not disengage not even changing patches. I returned my A6 back to my local Alesis distributor here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. They sent it to Intellimix, the Canadian distributor, for repair. Intellimix did not fix the problem, and returned the synth damaged. After discovering that it was not fixed, I asked my local store to get me a brand new Andromeda. It's already November, and they have not received any news. Alesis mentioned to the store that they were expecting a shipment at the beginning of October, but this has not happened. After this experience, I am extremely disappointed at Alesis, at their Quality Control, and at the Canadian distributor. I want to let everybody on this A6 list know that there is a seriously faulted batch of Andromedas going around. After reading the reports on the A6 Mailing List, I realize that several of us A6 enthusiasts are getting hit with the bugged keyboards. We need to identify this faulty batch, post their serial numbers and make aware the rest of A6 users that these units should be red flagged and not acquired. I am very weary of buying a "newer" A6 via eBay, because the issue happens with the newer Andromedas. The pre-Numark Andromedas may be without these bugs. If anyone has more info, please advise, and make it available to everyone. Regards, Carlos" On Dec 12, 2006, at 7:45 PM, Jason Creek wrote: > Hi, Ted, > > What is the "new problem board?"
