Hi Dalimaster, Thanks for the notes. Your points are well made, and I agree with their intent: Supporting the biggest names in the biz is very important to any company's success and reputation. I did have a quick look through the Midi Quest XL user database and see that there are MQXL users who use Sonar, SX and MOTU MTP Avs without issue, so perhaps another round of tech support from Sound Quest might be in order. When using an Ed/lib as a plug-in, it is important to realize that today's DAW plug-in standards are designed for Note, CC and NRPN data, and not the kind of SysEx communications that an ed/lib generates and responds to. Consequently, the best course of action is to use a multi-client-driver MIDI interface that allows the ed/lib to access it directly, in parallel with the DAW. I'm not sure if this is related to your Midi Quest / MOTU MTP issues or not, but I thought it was worth mentioning. With regards to our forthcoming single-instrumend ed/lib products, instruments are selected for support based on the hardware manufacturer's willingness to provide Psicraft with SysEx documents and a unit for development purposes. We are discussing such an arrangement with TC Electronic now, but this will be a future product and not one that has been released in previous years. As with any other business, we can only invest time into products that sell enough units to cover the cost of development, and this keeps us mostly focused on new or recent releases, unfortunately. Midi Quest XL does support all the vintage synths you listed (MKS-80, MemoryMoog & Xpander), however... One more reason to give Sound Quest's tech support another try. A word of advice for PSicraft. I have Midiquest 9XL and cannot get it to work. I have been on the phone with the company several times. I have a couple of MOTU MTP AVs interfacing my midi equipment and SOnar running my studio (had SX too). MQ blames Sonar and MOTU for driver issues (I have the latest on both). While I am sure it is difficult to deal with other manufacturers specs, I would think that since MOTU, Sonar and SX are some of the biggest names in the biz, a company has to overcome those issues to have a usable product. One further suggestion - I collect vintage synths. Having a librarian for a memorymoog, MKS80, Xpander... would be hugely helpful since memory is limited. One final point - MQ has told me they wont make editor/librarians for TC equipment. I have several choce TC boxes and I would happily pay to have a better way to edit my Fireworks than on the front screen. Best of luck. I will be watching for the program. --- In Andromeda_A6-ION@yahoogroups.com, Tony Antoniou <tony@p...> wrote: > Psicraft Designs has one under development - It will be available for PC > and Mac as a standalone program that can also run as a VST plug-in.
