Thanks for the advice, I must admit that although I have been programming 
synths for a few years now I still need all the help I can get as theres always 
room for improvement, simple explainations such as the one you have just 
given me are the key to understanding the big picture.

By the way the synthex is my favourite synth in my collection, so simple to 
programme plus built in midi, analogue chorus effect, a wicked little 
modulation joystick, secuencer and 49 presets plus 49 non volatile user 
memory positions, this beauty's polyphonic its got two oscilators and allows 
you to mix two parts upper and lower to construct  a patch, this all may seem 
quite basic when mentioned in the same breath as the Andromeda but man 
the pads this thing can create are truley lush.
