AVR Butterfly programming error

2005-07-26 by Bill H

Hello All, I have tried hex files I compiled from IAR, from WinAVR,
and other peoples hex files that are supposed to work. I have tried 2
different computers, and when I try programming the AVR Butterfly
using AVR Prog in AVR Studio, I keep getting this message when trying
write the code. IT actually writes the code but when it verifies spits
this out. Has anyone else ever received this same problem? Perhaps it
is my butterfly. Everything else works. Have my serial port set to
19200, 8 data and 1 stop bit, no hand shaking. Is this a common
problem? I couldnt find it while googling.

Address 0x0000, expected 0x940c, received 0x0100

Hello Bill
i also use butterfly. Code compiled with Bascom and send to Butterfly trough serial link, using bootloader and AvrProg rev 1.40. Run perfectly, 100% success
ISP programming (necesary to program some fuses) also OK with STK500.
regards from Belgium

Re: AVR Butterfly programming error

2005-07-28 by Bill H

Peter, reading on AVRfreaks.net, apparently this problem may have to
do with certain butterfly's being shipped out with the wrong lock fuse
set. Soon I am going to order an STK500 board and program it via the
ISP interface, read the fuses and see whats up. Hopefully its just a
wrong set fuse. Ofcourse since I am new to this, I have no idea what
needs to be set so next time I program it I dont wipe out the boot loader.
