All, I installed the Prolific 1.09B driver, it didn't work with the IOGear unit. I googled ATEN/IOGear GUC232A and with the right combination of keywords I found the 1.08 driver on the IOGear site. This installed fine and it DOES work and create the /dev/cu.usbserial0 file! Proving that the newest is sometimes NOT the best.
