Have you looked at the website I mentioned? The programmer
is not hard to build on veroboard...BUT...you will need
another programmer to program the programmer's chip :-)

It would not be in the 8535 data sheet as you can program
the chip in several ways. IIRC you already have a parallel
port programmer, so you can use it to program either the
8535 or the 2313. If you look at avrfreaks.com and search
for AVR910 you will find firmware for both the 2313 and the
8535 version of the programmer. Don't worry about what goes
on inside the programmer for now, AVR Studio takes care of
that.
