Hi there, I'm having some problems with my AN1X, the right output is
distorting the sound - I'm planning to use an insert cable and use the
headphones output instead, but it would be nice if the right output could be
repaired..

anyone familiar with these kinds of problems?

/fredrik

I usually do a factory reset when this happens. Be sure to save your
voices and settings first, though.

aeuh.... but how the hell would a factory reset (and how do I do that) fix
that?! :)

You had the same problem?

I find that, occasionally, especially after periods of non-usage, the
AN1x starts behaving strangely. And yes, that includes the symptoms that
you describe. It could be the battery for all I know, since it's never
been changed.

You do a factory reset by holding down the '7', '8' and '9' keys whilst
switching on the unit, and keeping them pressed until you get a screen
that says something like 'Init blah?'. Choose '9' for a factory reset.
Then press 'Yes'.

As mentioned before, make sure you back up all your voices, settings,
sequences, everything.

Thanks alot for the info! I hope this will solve the problem... Maybe I
should try to change the battery aswell while I'm still at it...

Hey Fred... I had something like this type of distortion happen a few years back
and yes, somehow a reset fixed the problem. My only guess is that the operating
system seems to be able to detect stereo output, that is, if you have 2 cables
plugged in. I found that one of my cables had a minor short in it. Even after
replacing the cable there was still distortion in the channel. I was afraid
that I'd smoked the output amplifier. But, after a factory reset it began to
behave again. Computers --- ya love 'em, ya hate 'em, ya don't understand 'em
but they're really nice when they work.
