Getting sounds meant for CS6x PLGAN card into AN1x

Getting sounds meant for CS6x PLGAN card into AN1x

2004-07-27 by Bjorn Standal

Dear listers,

I've just bought some patches off www.vengeance-music.de who make trance sounds for a varietes for synths (soft/hard). I took a chance and bought a soundset meant for the PLG150AN board in a CS6x. I hoped the file was in *.an1 or *.mid format and "pry" them into the AN1x, but obviously, the CS6x has a whole different way to address its addon cards and its programs.

The files I received were in a CS6x specific format. This is the instructions that followed the soundset:

CosmicX.s2B (contains the sounds)
fx.s2a (contains FX settings for the Cs6x)

Please load fx.s2a as "all" from Card
After this, load CosmicX.s2b as "PlugIn2"

AN Board has to be in PligIn2 Slot!

Is there anyone who has any idea about these file formats? Is there any way to convert them to something the AN1x would understand?

Sincerely Yours,
Bjorn Standal

Hello Bjorn,

It's a been awhile since we've seen this question posted to AN1x-list
and I'm uncertain how many CS6x user's are currently lurking ;-) If
no one on this list offers help I suggest you cross post to the CS6x
list:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/CS6X/

There are many PLG150-AN users there who might be willing to load the
sound bank into their CS6x w/ PLG150-AN and then convert them to .AN1
or .ANP format using AN1xEdit or AN Expert Editor.

Good luck.

Jon
