One of the keys [C6] on my AN1x won't spring back up anymore. It sounds fine when pushed, but just stays down. Is the problem a broken part of the key, or some internal spring mechanism? Is this an easy problem to fix? I'd really love to remedy the problem without having the synth serviced, if possible. --Robin

Maybe my experience can help you: after 2 years the keys from C2# to F#2 (if I remember well) did not answer anymore. 3 times the AN1x left in repair, and each time the breakdown occured again ! One day, I decided to open the AN1x. Don't worry: the mechanism is very simple. I think there is no lubrification for the keys. But for my problem, it was a bad welding. And each time the AN1x was open and closed, the problem disaperead ! Finally, I asked a technician to remake the welding, and since then I don't have any more the problem. In conclusion: don't hesitate to open your AN1x: if you are afraid, take pictures of each step before unmount the components, and probably you will find somewhere a mechanical disfunction - there is a "sensitive ribbon" where the "hammer" comes to type... --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, "eduardosocolovsky" <eduardosocolovsky@y...> wrote: > Hi ! Many thanks, Paul and Gene! I was a bit hesitant to open the AN1x up, but I'll try tomorrow, taking pictures of each step. Hopefully it'll be an easy fix. :) --Robin --- In AN1x-list@yahoogroups.com, "Paul Barbieux" <pbarbieux@y...> wrote:

It turns out that after years of carrying it around, the bottom of the case has become rather dented and warped. I can't even get some of the screws off. I've basically given up. :( Actually, do you think it's possible the order a new plastic casing for the AN1x? That could possibly work for me, but I doubt Yamaha would sell one. --Robin > > There are some photos for your reference inthe Photos directory for AN1x-list here at
