"Drive It!" Patch

"Drive It!" Patch

2004-04-08 by Tracy Mahmoud

Does anyone know the patch bank that contains the solo patch
called "Drive It!"? I used to have it, but now I can't seem to find
it. Any advice?

Ok, I've got an idea that works...

Right click on a patch bank saved in .an1 format on your computer. Click
"Open With" and choose Notepad. Then click "Edit, Find" and type in
'drive'. The names are stored in text format so Notepad will pull up any
name with "drive" in it.

I've done this on a few banks to test the idea for you and haven't found
"Drive It", but I did find "Overdrive" in a bank.

I'll talk to a friend tonight about writing a program that pulls out the
patch names from a bank and stores them in a text file.

"Drive It" patch, oh "Drive It!" patch - where foreart thou "Drive It!" patch?

Funny story about this Voice I'd like to share with you:

About a month, or maybe six weeks, ago some when this solicit first appeared - an
ex-list member was good enough to upload the "Drive It!" patch to the Files Section.
Don't know where he found it or what Voice archive it's stored in...However, he was
under the mistaken impression that performing this good deed entitled him to solicit
warez on AN1x-list :-( Nevermind that we _just_ discussed the subject of trading
copyrighted materials on AN1x-list the week prior to his good deed (during his
tenure on AN1x-list I might add!)

When I requested he refrain from soliciting trades of copyrighted material on AN1x-
list he threw a fit, sent me an insulting email, deleted the file he had uploaded and
signed off the list. This behavior is, of course, par for course *anytime* I've directed
somebody NOT to solicit or trade warez on AN1x-list - and every other list I've
moderated or actively participated on. I invited this ex-list member to remain on
AN1x-list but the policy should not have come as a surprise to him. I don't believe
either this individual, or the ones that preceeded him, have rejoined this list. Go
figure :-/

Anyway, I would suggest to those searching for the "Drive It!" voice that you
coordinate your efforts. Perhaps each of you could divide your time searching one
each of the archives from the Files section. Or maybe Ed's acquaintance will be able to
create a search utility for .an1 banks.

Good luck.

Could anyone explain (I may have missed it...if it already was posted here, feel free
to email me privately) exactly what "Drive it" patch IS...and why it is so coveted?

Is it just a regular patch....with a fantastic sound, or a tool, or ???

Thanks,

Jim
