Second note won't sound when first key is still pressed

Second note won't sound when first key is still pressed

2003-09-16 by martinez21

Hello all. I've just taken a bass sound on the AN1x and started
fiddling around with it, as you do of an evening. I noticed that when
you have one key pressed down, if you press another no note is
triggered. I thought it might be due to the fact that it was in mono
or legato mode, so I changed that to Poly and, just to avoid any
other complications, I made sure Portamento was off and I switched
Layer from Unison Dual to plain old Single. And yet the situation
remains - I can play a three-note chord, say, but when I go to change
one of the notes (with the others still pressed down), I get no noise
from that new key.

I've fiddled around with some of the parameters, opening up the VCA
and VCF envelopes, for example, but that doesn't alter it either.

I've probably overlooked something simple here, as usual. Any ideas,
clever people?

Cheers,
Martin

Martin,

From your problem description I would hazard a guess you're not editing the Scene
you intended to - double check the Voice is not in Dual mode. I often overlook Dual
Mode and wonder why my edits are not effective - typically I'm editing the wrong
Scene in my Voice.

If the problem persists, and you've double checked the Mode is Poly -not Mono or
Legato - then I would suggest reinitializing the AN1x to it's factory default settings.

No, I made sure of that too, and double checked that Mode is in
Poly... it was very odd, I must say

Yes, I guess so. *sigh* The interesting thing is that it works fine
on other patches, it was just this one, the "Manna" preset (with,
like I say, everything switched to the simplest mode - Arp/Seq=off,
Mode=Poly, Layer=Single, Scene=the one I'm tweaking). And
initialising fills me with a certain ennui, as me and mes amis
Monsieur Computer and Mademoiselle AnnieX are having a few problems
with AN1xEdit, the cheeky scamp, so saving patches is something of a
bĂȘte noire chez moi at the moment.

Oh well. I'll pour myself another martini and contemplate life
instead.

Yours gauchely,
Martin
