Quick Q. regarding Pedal

Quick Q. regarding Pedal

2003-08-29 by RayMaxer (Digital Illusions)

Hi.

I am going to get a pedal for my AN-1x to control volume sometimes and
sometimes other things like Cutoff (on AN-1x and to record to seq. for other
synths).

Am I right thinking that both inputs on An-1x (Volume and Control Pedal) are
for the same type of pedals , just for different sources for modulation ?

Any advice on what pedal to buy ?
I remember Bruce recommending FC7 by Yamaha.. and he said he bought one like
15 years ago. Are they currently still in production ?

Thanks.
Ray.

Hi Ray,

Yes, they work exactly the same way. The only real difference is that no matter what MIDI CC# you choose for the Volume input, that's that one that the synth will obey as a volume message.

Yes, they are still readily available, and plug right into the AN1x. I got a Korg-labeled one with my BX-3, too. Actually, I have four of them -- one is about 15 years old; I bought the second and third ones in the late '90s; the fourth one came with my BX-3. I have a hard time telling #1 from #2 and #3. All of them work with any Yamaha or Korg gear. All of them work with any Roland or Fatar/Studiologic gear if you cross the tip and ring connections (requires an adapter or soldering changes).

Regards,
