my an1x was my first instrument. so i have learned alot on it. i have also
learned that i gotta take care of my baby's. i recently moved next to some train
tracks, and the trains carry coal. i cover my gear when i am not home, but it
still gets a film on it. any recomendations on what to use to shine and buff my
An1x. this keyboard is frickin awsome isnt it...every couple of months i pull
something off of it, and i am just like, wow, forget the jp and ms2000, i got this
thing for buttloads cheaper, and it slams. peace josh

No recommendations on the cleaning, but aren't you breathing the same
coal dust? Never mind what happens to your gear, if your health is at risk.

Dude, if that much coal dust is getting into your practice room even though
you cover your instrument -- you gotta seal that room off somehow. Do you
know how most resistors are constructed for electronic circuitry? Carbon.
Just like that dust getting on your baby. If enough of that carbon gets on
the circuitry eventually it will kill it. As a technician I'm telling you
that you're in a very bad environment for electronics. (As far as the human
effect -- it's not all that bad AFIK.)

My suggestion would be to make a room in your place dust-proof. It can be
done, of course not like a NASA clean room, but a lot of people have to seal
up their homes due to allergies and it's not terribly difficult. You might
do an internet search on dust-proofing. Meanwhile, the right way to remove
coal dust might be out there on a Google search somewhere... it's gotta be
abrasive so rubbing wouldn't be a very good option.
