os update?????

hi!

i got my an1x since 5 years now. i just wonder if there ever was a 
update. and if so, where can i download it?

There were several OS updates; the latest one is v1.04.

Now the bad news:  You can't download it to the AN1x.  It requires taking the synth apart, and changing a large IC.  Yamaha was giving them out for free during the warranty period of the synth; you might have to pay for it.

thats not good! 

what kind of an os update is? would you say i need it? i mean i don´t 
want these kind of bugfix and better editstuff shit updates! if there 
something interristing new which i can do with my 1x i would do it...

All of the updates were for bug fixes and such.  There were never any feature-update releases, to my knowledge.  If your AN1x is not bothering you, I'd leave it alone.
