I find this problem in many synths. Filters cut the volume. Effects add to the volume. Feedback also adds to the volume. I usually turn the volume way down when I change a patch, then turn it up until it sounds right. Some people spend weeks normalizing their patches before going on tour.Sometimes I'll work on a batch of about ten patches and try to get the levels all right. I don't have the patience to do more.
