Hello ppl,

I was looking at a possible modification on my AN1X
( I did a similar one already on my lexicon MRC)

basically the 2 footpedal input and the switch)
can be replicated on the panel with 2 knobs ( 50 Kohm linear i guess ..
I am checking) and with one micro switch push on off

so that u can control both via pedal or via panel the same functions

the critical things is to decide where is on the panel of the AN1X
the best place to mount them !

after some thinking and checking for space outside and inside the AN1X
I think (if u get small pots and switch) the best place is
lower after the 2 wheels

what do u think ppl ?

brainstorming away tnx )

ciao

I have put a small jpg of the idea at

http://home.wanadoo.nl/atmosfere.sonore/Yamaha_AN1X/an1xmod.jpg

or is it better left side of the 2 existing pots rows ?

Regards

Hi Andrea,

Maybe it's just me who likes everything kept in original, mint condition,
but I think such a mod, despite how useful, is only going to detract from
the value of this now quite rare and highly desirable synth. The way I might
go about it is to build the pots and switches into a small case, plug them
into the regular sockets on the back using cables/connectors, and sit the
box on the vacant space on the top right-hand side of the synth. There's
even a special lip there to prevent the box slipping down onto the keys.

What do you think?

Phil

I think Phil's got an excellent solution here for your "pot or pedal" idea.
Now, I'm personally not afraid of hacking up anything electronic, but I've
learned over the years about the difficulties you encounter doing things like
this. For instance, we're dealing with a plastic case with a lot of stenciled
graphics... it's hard to make a "pro" looking mod on a custom box.

The break-out box with cables, switches, pots and jacks would save a lot of
headaches and potential damage to your synth. If you absolutely need it on the
left side of the synth then consider using velcro on the side (you know - that
tape that has hooks on one side and loops on the other).

Re: [AN1x] -- AN1X mods --

2002-02-23 by Andrea TONI

Hi Phil

well i may partly agree but ...

-- the AN1X can be found for 400 450 euro for as much as i like it
i certanily can't say is a classic like a Jupiter 8 or else
so i dont feel so guilty in modifying the cosmetics (and if i do it
.. i will do it pro-way :-)) .. and maybe is me but i like functional
mods , they make the things more personal unique and more useful

-- the space on the right that u mention is alredy busy with my QY70
that fits there perfectly ! besides as soemone mention already on
here ,that space can be use for a dopfer pocket or in my case i tought
already to strip down a JLC fader master from faders to pots and fit it
in ... we will see !

-- If i do as u suggest i will loose teh combined funcionality of both
pedals and panel control cos i wont be able to wire internally
(ok maybe u can replicate the 3 jacks) .. still i would liek to have
   a floating small box around
