Introduction

2000-05-04 by Joon Choi

Hey everyone...I just found out about this list, so I thought I'd come
aboard and say hello.

It's good to finally see a functioning AN1X list...I tried to get on
TekLab's without success for some time now.. :(

I've had my AN1X for a while now, but I've only recently gotten into
programming it...I guess the presets and downloaded patches kept me pretty
happy for a while.

So here's a question...I've been trying to figure this out, but I don't seem
to be able to: I don't seem to be able to get Scene Switch/morph to work. I
have two scenes, and I hit both so they're lit, but nothing happens when I
hit the mod wheel...I looked in the control matrix to see if I need to
assign something...but I Didn't find anything. What am I missing?

Introduction

2001-08-17 by tiladiges@chello.nl

Hi everyone,

I am a new member of this group and I want to introduce myself.

I am Tom, 30 years and I live in a small town near Amsterdam in the
Nehterlands.
I own a Yamaha CS6x for almost a year now. It's my first real synth
although I messed around with some keyboards in the past. My first
real instrument was a Casio VL-tone, wich I get on my eleventh
birthday(I think) and wicht I still own. In my synth I have fitted a
PLG150-AN, wich I think is a very powerfull synth.

Our small home "studio" is equipped with the CS6x with a PLG150-an
inside, a Alesis MMT-8 sequencer, an Alesis AirFX and a Roland CDX-1.
An old Pentium is used as editor for both cs6x and PLG and also some
sequencing.
We hope to expand our equipment in the future, but for the moment we
are quite satisfied with this setting.
I am fortunate to have a wife that also likes synths and making
music, so I won't have to justify each expensive wish.

This site contains a lot of usefull information to me and by being a
member of this group I hope I can also contribute to it and I hope to
get in touche with people with same interests etc..

I hope you get a picture of me now, but questions/comments are welcome

Tom

Hi Tom,

Welcome to the list. :-)

Do you do live performances sequenced via the MMT-8 in true Orbital fashion?
(Although I think they may use Mac Powerbooks these days???)

Tom, how lucky are you to have a wive who also likes synths, the amount of
crap i've had to listen to from my girlfriend: "you never spend money on me,
just on your stupid music equipment"
"why do you never buy me flowers"
the list could go on forever.........
you're a lucky man! Anyway, welcome to the list, hope you find it useful,
what sort of music do you make??
Cheers
Tom

Tell your GF to be thankful you're spending your money on synths, rather
than, say, hookers... :)

Cheers Elson,
I'll tell my girlfriend, very good point about the hookers.....
She broke 3 keys of my AN1x, 2 weeks after I got it, she hit it when we had an argument,
because she knew how much I liked it!! bad, isn't it!!!
Which leads me to a good question, I've got 3 new keys that I've ordered from yamaha, and I am thinking of fitting
them myself.
Has anyone here done this, is it easy and is there anything I need to watch out for??
I would appreciate some advice on that.

P.S. AN1X sounds soo good when "mind expansions" are installed, shame that its so complicated to edit
when you're in such a state.......

Very late reply, but I'm trying to catch up with two months worth of this
list's mail.

What town, if I may ask? I used to live in Amsterdam Buitenveldert, before
moving to Malta.

I have a fiancée who likes shoes, handbags and clothes. Right. :)
