Newbie question, some help would be welcome...

2001-04-19 by midisys@flevonet.nl

When i play samples on my Akai S2000 and using the AN1x to trigger
the samples, the samples play with to much aftertouch.
When i trigger the samples with another kb the samples sound o.k.
Is it possible to adjust the aftertouch on my AN1x?
I looked at the manual but coud'nt find it...

thanx in advance

Hy. Don't know if it is precisely what your looking at, but you
should try -if not already- to lower the velocity of the key board.
it's in Utility/Setup third switch..
I think there i a way to disable or minor the AT sensitivity, but
can't tell you how precisely.
Hope it can help.

Johan ,
Unfortunately not ...
Try lowering the amount of aftertouch modulation in the Akai's patch.
Ray.

The velocity control is independent of aftertouch on the AN1x. There
is no control on the AN1x to reduce the amount AT transmitted from
the keyboard. You'll need to reduce the modulation depth setting at
the destination MIDI module as Ray already suggested.

If you are using a software sequencer you could apply a filter to
exlude AT. Some programs permit this as a global setting but it might
be possible at the track level as well - depends on the program.

regards,

Jon

Or may be even scale down the aftertouch values after recording from AN-1x
(in the software sequencer) or (as AN-1x sends too 'discrete' values of
aftertouch) re-draw the aftertouch graphic looking at the original ...
