The AN1x Voice Setup Guide CD-ROM

The AN1x Voice Setup Guide CD-ROM

2000-12-19 by PinheadX

Hi there,

I found this article surfing on the web...does anybody have this CD-ROM (ok,
I doubt.:-), coz as you may read, the downloadable file is only a portion of
the full version?

cheers,
PinheadX.

"The AN1x Voice Setup Guide

Yamaha have also released the AN1x voice setup guide. Again this is a free
item available from all good Yamaha outlets. It provides a step by step
guide to getting the best out of your AN1x, and comes with a free floppy
disk containing hundreds of new sounds for your AN1x (in midi file and
MDF2/3 format). This 50 page literary feast, is the only guide to have with
your AN1x.

The guide comes in English and French.

For people who wish to download, some of the files for both the CD-ROM and
the guide can be found at www.yamaha.com."

Hey PinheadX,

I just remembered something...

I couldn't get the voices for the manual...
and then one day when I was speaking to yamaha support on the phone
they asked me if I wanted the An1x support disk...

and I'm not 100% sure but it might have contained all the samples...
I think I'ts got here and if I can find it and it has anything decent on it
I'lk keep you posted

tom

Ok ...

I found it, its got a directory with the manual in and a load of midi files;

two of these midi files are "guide.mid" and "tweaks.mid"

which are both 62k long.

I would tell you how many voices were on them but am not with the old
an1x at the moment...

Do you recon this is it or is it the version everyone has? and if this is
what you want - how do I upload files?

This has got to be a mistake. The person who wrote the web page probably
meant "floppy" instead of "CD-ROM".
Has anyone else on the list heard of a CD? And anyway, the user's guide is
not that great, and is almost coverd entirely in the back of the AN1x
manual.

From the Files section you'll find a URL labelled Upload - this will
walk you through the upload process.
http://www.egroups.com/files/AN1x-list/

Either create a new directory or use one of the existing directories
for your upload so the files can be easily located. We can always
clean-up/reorganize as necessary ;-)

Cheers Jon

here it is... I've uploaded the sounds some are .mid some are for some weird
thing i dont
understand but there is a readme file there too that says what they're there
for.

Other things on the disk include the guide .pdf file, a load of voices like
midlands, bases etc.
which I'm sure are already in the files directory... and the original
version of Gary's program.

Hope it helps, I've put them in a directory called Yamaha An1x support disk
(or something)
which is in the patches directory...

laters

Thanx for posting that file, pal...I was quite curious about the other
voices
(tweaks.mid). I assumed that these voices are REALLY new ones, but in fact
they are just "variations".

I noticed that there's 4 patches that are different or at least have
different names, I didn't make the comparision to be sure about (BTW, these
are the same that are "missing" on the file I posted):
#5 Toadstool (UNI LEAD)
#10 Freecut (B-BASS)
#13 Insides (BELLJANGLE)
#20 Creeper (LFO PAD)

But you're a sadic guy...you let me ruin my eyes searching for that
"guide-voices" before you post it!!!...are you that bad when you're playing
your AN??? Ok, I don't want to start the "spanking" thread again...:-)

Thanx again.
PinheadX.

Cool mate, glad it helped,

sorry you went mental looking for the directory... I should
have said that the location of the directory was on the actual cd rom,
sitting in my computer...
