This was hands_down the most unique collection of patches I've heard
in awhile. Congrats for the original take on things! They're
obviously not your typical, day to day voices but when you need a
spacey, whacked out 'synth' sound - these will do nicely.
I'd would suggest paying closer attention to the levels of the
voices. Many are just too quiet and although I've not spend lots of
time analyzing them - I'd pay closer attention to the gain level
staging in the effects section. Many need some tweaking to become
audible. It seems the Mix Level and VCA levels are pretty much where
you'd expect them so the signal loss must be in the FX section...
Again, I really enjoyed these sounds - congrats.

Description : These scripts are for the midi track mixer in VST 5, they will allow access to around 80 or so functions on the PLG an1x, they should work for the AN1x keyboard as well. there is a readme on how to use them. To use the scripts just open them up in the VST 5/trackmixer folder, then open up a strip on the midi track mixer, click on the black box at the top to choose a script, and away you go, The scripts are all sysex, so they will work on any channel It is easy to have all 10 scripts open.

On the Mac version of AN1xEdit v1.1 I get 'Wrong File Version' on each
attempt to open the file. I've downloaded a couple of copies and played
around with the creator type too - no luck.

.syx is the suffix for System Exclusive files - or SysEx for short :-)
An1xEdit is not capable of importing .syx files but it can export them
(very handy indeed!) You'll need a generic SysEx librarian like MidiOx
for this - or use a software sequencer. That said - I can't get either
Vision DSP or Logic Audio (both Mac) to import this file?! That doesn't
often happen to me...
Whoever get these two files translated would you please post back to
the list. Thanks.

Sorry for the troubles with my GuitarSync file. I thought that SysEx
(.syx) format would be useful to the group, but it appears that it is
not. I've replaced the file with TubeSync.zip, which extracts to
TubeSync.an1, which should be more user-friendly. This new file actually
has two sounds: GuitarSync, and "Whacked" which is an overdriven organ-like
patch that I used for a couple of solos, also with tube amp simulation.

Please use the .zip format for uploads to the Files section. FYI,
.cab cannot be decompressed by any Mac utilities that I'm aware of -
certainly not Stuffit Deluxe or ZipIt.

I'd like to point out the FARFISA Voice in this Voice bank was
created using the guielines Bruce W. posted to the list late last
April. Doa search for 'Farfisa' or just key in message # 5592 and
you'll find the post.
I'm not sold on how realistic my attempt is but I though it might
be fun to try. A previous attempt (unfortunately overwritten by
accident) came a little closer to the mark, IMO but it doesn't do
much good no does it? ;-)

stuff - colour me impressed. I rarely take the time to make use of
the step sequencer so it's alwasy a nice surprise when
someone else does. I was disappointed you didn't make use of

Finally made some time to download and audition your Jean-Michel Jarre sounds - well
done! These are terrific - prompted me to stop at CD Cellar and score a 2nd hand copy of
Magnetic Fields :-)
The four banks of Voices you uploaded appear to be identical - unless I've missed the
obvious, you wouldn;t mind if I .zip one of them and remove the duplicates from Files
section would you?

If this is the case I think I must have saved the entire bank each time instead of each individual patch (no wonder the files are so big)! Sorry I'm not used to the software editor yet.
I think I may also contain an unfinished Equinoxe 3 patch that was supposed to be the string pad for Equinoxe 2 if you want to rename it.
If you could zip just one bank that would be great as I only have the valuation version of Winzip. Better still if you could perhaps just select the relevent patches (five I think) and put those in a 'Jarre' file it may save on more space as most of the other patches are just the normal factory presets.
I'll try and post any more Jarre patches as soon as time allows. The AN1X's symphonic fx is great for Synthex impressions.
Btw does anyone out there have a Doepfer Drehbank? I've customised one of the presets for the ultimate AN1X programming/sequencer interface. I'll try and upload that soon as well.

Hi,
Im not sure about a text file as it would probably take longer to type out than programming the sounds themselves (and it was a few weeks back now) but as promised Ive uploaded a preset for the Doepfer Drehbank which I used to program all the Jarre sounds apart from the mod matrix and eq.
The Drehbank already comes with some sysex presets for the AN1X (mode 1) but the layout was quite bad so Ive reassigned the sound parameters for normal MIDI CC (mode 2) apart from the filter sustain and release which Yamaha have forgot to give a CC assignment for some reason. Ive also colour coded my Drehbank front panel; each VCO, the mod/FM/LFO, the filter/filter env and VCA/polyphony parameters all with separate colours so its a little easier to navigate around the 64 knobs.
One good preset that did come with the Drehbank was for sysex control of the step sequencer which Ive copied/pasted for use in bank B. The four rows of 16 knobs really works well for handling all the parameters as they would be on a proper analogue step sequencer. Unfortunately theres no step lights but I start will all knobs at zero and work my way from there. Having a groovebox with grid lights synced alongside can also help. Holding down a key on the AN1X set to external MIDI sync before pressing play on your main MIDI clock source will ensure synced playback.
The pitch range can be a little sensitive with one knob over the full octave range but I think this can be edited in the Drehbank software so watch this space.
I find it best to get your sound programmed first then start on the sequencer but the AN1X software editor can be better for getting the pitches right first then tweak gate/velocity/CC on the Dreh.
Drehbanks arent the cheapest MIDI controller but you can also use them for anything else MIDI wise and although youll still need to refer to the AN1X front panel for some parameters it will give you more hands on parameters than almost any other VA which imho is most invaluable element to any hardware synth.

I just posted 25 more patches I programmed on the PLG150AN. An assortment of basses, leads, and sequences (and a strange ringmod efx patch). They are in .ans format. Should load to AN1X using AN1X edit; don't know if the AN200 can load .ans files. The first patch, "WaterPiano", is a copy of an Alesis Ion preset; a weird ambient Piano sound. "NoizPiano" is a variation. "HoeDown Intro" came out OK, but sounds better with 3 oscs (Press a hi "D"). "Hi and Tri" is the only one that probably won't sound correct on the AN1X. It is a single tri osc lead; I think it will default to a saw on the AN1X. -Steve

Yes I am still programming the An1x. In spite of knowing, that this machine is a little bit out of time. And not very well known, because it was only produced one year. 1996-1997.
So this Yahoo group is a little bit quiet. Accepted :-)
Hard to explain. I own any kinds of synthesizers but this An1X machine is the one i love most.
I loaded your Fender Example and was amazed, that it it so close to mine. I am using An1X on stage and this kind of Fenders do very well Jobs.
Also JayBs Accelrate Sound is first choice using it on stage. Even in its "thin" Version.
In former times I used old CX3 and nex CX3 on stage. My corrected An1X sounds

Only 10 Polyphonie reduces An1X Organ fun. But AT Leslie is great.
Another Sound I am using on Stage is Number 10. An1X S1S2. Very pure but with right frequency range. And i can switch between this an an Solo sound.
Sound Number 5 D50 Fanta (11 D50 Sound number) seems to have also a better frequencie range than all my other D50 emulations. I use this sound very often on stage.
Also Diamonds (22), Moog (23), Gary More (24) and Jazz Guitar Emulation JAZZ DUOii (43)
Very often i need an high audible Brass Sound on Stage. EG for Latin Stuff. XP Brass (14) is doing that. Best auditable An1X Sound on stage.
I have some new surprises. An1x Groove Sounds, that will turn this machine in an single producer station. For this concept i first tried to produce a clean Drum and Base Sound with Seq in one Scene. I think i succeeded. Furthermore adding complex Controles on Drum and Base and Scene2.
I will upload this as soon as i am really content with the result.
