Routing SW1000XG effect to PLG 150AN

Routing SW1000XG effect to PLG 150AN

2007-09-25 by Alien Martian

Hello,

I understand that the PLG150AN card has no effects, but heard that if connected to SW1000XG you can use the onboard effects routed to PLG card.

So how do I do this?

I have AN1X edit and XGEDIT and cubase.

  Regards
  Alien1x

No first hand experience with the SW1000XG card myself, but I'm
certain another user will chime in shortly...in the meantime, you
might want to check the 'Tips & Tricks' directory within the Files
section for AN1x-list here at Yahoo! Groups

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x-list/files/

You will find some 'How to' posts Gary Gregson contributed to AN1x-
list regarding the PLG150-AN and SW1000XG combo. The Yamaha
XGFactory.com website appears to have been retired - there were some
useful resources there once upon a time.

patches in .mid format

2007-09-26 by Jesse Buehler

Hello All,

I've some patches from my old an1x days that I'd like to use in my an200. Most work, but for some reason, I saved some as .mid files. Now, I cannot get an1xedit or an200 editor to open these files. What do I need to do to get this done.

A .mid file is a Standard MIDI File (SMF) and may be played back from any MIDI Sequencer to
load the file(s) into your AN200.

If you don't have a MIDI Sequencer, some - not all - SysEx librarians for Win/Mac will
import .mid files and allow you to load them into your device. Check the list archives for
some past recommendations, I don't recall the Win suggestions off hand. For Mac you can
use SysEx Librarian which will load .mid files http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/

I tried it with ableton live, but it may filter midi info. But, would an an200 read sysex from a an1x? I was hoping that I could load the sysex into an1xedit, then save it in the normal .an1 format.

I don't know Ableton Live 1st hand - never used it - but I would suggest you check the
MIDI Transmit channel ID in Live and the MIDI Receive channel ID on your AN200
correspond. There might be an option in the Preferences dialog (or whatever nomenclature
Ablteon uses...) to filter SysEx or MIDI CCs or NRPN's...

...and yes, the AN200 might have trouble with the Device ID in the sysex header of the
dump.

AN1xEdit will not load .mid files.

If you're really in a pinch - you could upload your .mid file to the Files section for AN1x-
list here at Yahoo! Groups and then myslef or somebody else on the list might make the
time load them into an AN1x and then retrieve them with AN1xEdit and resave them
as .an1.

I don't think you'll ever be able to do that from Ableton Live. Try
MidiOx, it's a great free MIDI ultility tool, it includes SysEx
send/receive capabilities and has a MIDI file player that'll just suit
your needs.

Hello Jesse !
if they're stored as MIDI files you can "write" them in your synth and
save them again in another format compatible with your editor.
Cheers
