Mode 1 is NOT necessary to use AN1xEdit. I use Mode 2 without problems with the editor.

Have you checked to see if your AN1x is in Mode 1 or Mode 2? Mode 1 is the default and I believe necessary for AN1xEdit. Mode 2 reassigns the standard MIDI
